Dr. Arden has over twenty years of experience as a government medical examiner in Suffolk County, New York, Delaware, New York City, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the State of West Virginia. He has performed more than 2,300 autopsies and appeared over 500 times as an expert witness.
In addition to his work as a medical examiner, Dr. Arden has participated in numerous task forces related to emergency preparedness, bio-terrorism, local health policies, domestic violence, and fatality review. He has served on related committees including:
Dr. Arden is an active member of the National Association of Medical Examiners (NAME). He was elected to NAME’s Board of Directors (2003-2008), and to the NAME Board’s Executive Committee (2006-2008).
Dr. Arden received his MD degree from the University of Michigan. He completed training in anatomic pathology at the New York University Medical Center, and in forensic pathology at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maryland. He was certified in both anatomic and forensic pathology by the American Board of Pathology in 1985. Dr. Arden is currently licensed to practice medicine in five states.
In 2006, Dr. Arden established Arden Forensics, PC, which provides consultation and expert witness services in civil and criminal cases, for the plaintiff, prosecution, and defense.
